# App Store Connect MCP tools

> The curated appstore MCP tools by group, the operation tools that reach the whole API, and how local and hosted servers differ.

Every curated operation is registered as an MCP tool with the same name and arguments. The same name works with `appstore ops call`, the local `appstore-mcp` server, the hosted MCP, and `POST /v1/ops/{name}`.

## Discovery and generic tools

| `appstore_call_operation` | Run any operation by `name` with `args` |
| `appstore_request` | Call any endpoint by `method` and `path`; non-GET counts as a write |
| `appstore_whoami` | Key id, issuer, Team or Individual key, and read-only mode |

These read or write local files or local config, so the hosted server does not offer them:

Tool results are JSON text. Errors return `{ "error": "<message>" }` with `isError: true`; Apple's errors, including the `associatedErrors` that explain why a submission cannot move on, are included in the message.
